ACA conducted a seminar by Prof. John Tookey on “Aging Infrastructure and the Response to Climate Change: Global Perspectives and Impacts in New Zealand”, Professor at AUT in the School of Future Environments, where he leads the Master of Construction Management and Master of Engineering Project Management programmes and Master of Engineering Project Management.
During the lecture, Professor Tookey discussed the challenges posed by aging infrastructure in the context of climate change and highlighted the importance of sustainability and resilience in infrastructure development. He presented various climate response management strategies currently being implemented in New Zealand, particularly projects aimed at flood management and mitigation. The session provided valuable insights into how New Zealand is addressing environmental challenges through innovative engineering and construction practices.
