Each semester shall have the duration of One Academic term of 18 weeks. There will be an examination at the end of each Semester. A candidate for the Degree of B. DESIGN (DESIGN) examination will be required to pass all the Eight Semester examinations spread over 4 years of 8 semesters, As per the University ordinance 75% attendance is compulsory for keeping the term. ## Curriculum Structure ## Semester I - Fundamentals of Design-I - Materials and Processes -I - History of Art and Design - Digitals Methods-I - Art Appreciation - Fundamentals of Design-I Lab - Digitals Methods-I Lab - Design sketching skills Lab - Craft Design Studio - Professional and Communication Ethics - Professional and Communication Ethics - Design Workshop - Computer Applications - Induction cum Universal Human Values ## Semester II - Fundamentals of Design-II - Materials and Processes -II - Typography Fundamentals - Digitals Methods-II - Program Core Course - Fundamentals of Design-II Lab - Digitals Methods-II Lab - Rendering and Illustration Lab - Program Core Lab - Social Science & Community Services - Indian Knowledge System - Social Media Lab - Design Studio ## Examination and Evaluation System Internal Marking 40% External Marking or Final examination 40% Passing in Internal heads Minimum 40% Passing in External heads for sessional subjects 40% Passing for Theory examination 40% Overall passing Minimum 40% The new semester pattern has CBCS grading system. - Each academic year consist of 2 semester terms, one ending in October/November and second ending in April/May. - A Minimum Of 40% Of Full Marks in Theory & 40% Of Full Marks in Sessional / Term Work are required for Passing. 40% Of Marks are required to Pass the External Viva/ . Aggregate Marks of each Subject should be 40% of total Marks for Passing. - The University of Mumbai employs CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM (CBCS) scheme to evaluate performance of student.  ## Examination and Evaluation System **GRADE POINTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE COURSES IN B.
